SunCoast Event- Magnolia Plantation - 81 June 24th-26th
Today wasn't my best start to a tournament needless to say! It didn't seem like I was playing that bad but 4 over through 5 was a tough start. I did get back on the par train until I hit a ball out of bounds on the 12th hole. It was an up and down kind of day- but on the positive side I didn't have any three putts!
This week I am staying with another player- Debbie Munoz- It is so nice to split expenses with someone. Unfortunately my cousin is an hour away from this tournament in Lake Mary, FL. With tee times starting at 730 I decided to splurge!

Minor Leage Tour Event - 76
Wednesday I played in a 1 day Minor league tour event at West Palm Beach Golf Club (www.minorleaguegolf.com) I was the only woman playing in the event against 35 men. The Tour set up tees for me that were 7% shorter than the men's tees.
Although I didn't hit my driver that great - I did make 3 great sand saves on my way to 76.
The best part of my day was being paired up with my golf instructor, Jimmy Buell. Even though he has instructed me for the past 2 years, yesterday was the first time we have played 18 holes together. My goal was to come within 5 shots of Jimmy- I fell just short of my goal as Jimmy fired a solid 70 !
I snuck in 18 holes before work today and shot 77 with a disapointing triple bogey on the 15th hole. But I hit 13 fairways- much better than yesterday! I am feeling confident for next week's SunCoast Series event at Magnolia Plantation.

2nd SunCoast Series- 75, 78, 81
Although I didn't come home with the money - I was able to walk away from this week with some small victories! 75- I had one of my best putting days the first day- only 27 putts- the kind of day where you feel like you can't miss. It must have been do to my cousin Kevin leaving me breakfast in the morning and the coffee pot ready to go for my early morning 630am departure- Thanks Kevin!
78- Not a bad day-I played 16 great holes- 1 birdie but had some minor hiccups that really cost me. I learned to pick better lay up distances- note to self -laying up into a hazard is not ideal.
81- Ok not my best round- I only missed 2 fairways but hitting greens were too scarce today. My trusty putter was not so trusty today. I didn't have many "yes" moments with my YES putter today.
I am going to take a week off- I pulled a muscle in my back last week- so I think some rest and then a little practice is in order before my June 24-26th event on the SunCoast Tour~

Lesson with Bruce Fleisher
Some days you are just lucky! I was lucky enough to meet Bruce Fleisher- Champion Tour star and former PGA tour player - while working at Emerald Dunes. I was even luckier to get a lesson from the tour Veteran. After helping me identify some swing flaws we played nine holes. Talk about playing lesson with a pro. It was inspiring to be around someone who has accomplished so much ! To have someone as accomplished as Bruce take the time out of their day to help me- I am very lucky!

76, 76, 75
One shot from making money! I finished tied for 5th out of 12 golfers in my first SunCoast series event this week in Apopka, FL. (The top 4 made money) My first day I had 4 birdies and too many bogeys. But the second and third days I hit the ball much better but couldn't get any putts to drop. Overall I was really happy with my first tournament of the summer. It just felt great to be back playing.
I need to thank my cousin Kevin for letting me stay with him and his son Sean. Being able to stay with family and having home cooked meals is such a treat!
My next event will be June 10-12 in Orlando on the SunCoast Series !
